GENERAL MESSAGE

Community Design + Architecture, Inc. is a planning, urban design, and architecture firm with a philosophy focusing on planning, design, and advocacy for compact, livable communities, including integrated transportation/land use planning, mixed-use and pedestrian/transit-friendly design, and sustainable development.

The goal of the firm is to shape development and public policy to create regions, cities, neighborhoods, and a built environment that are socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable at four different scales – the region, the city, the neighborhood, and building at a site-specific level.

Underlying the planning process is the understanding that these four scales create a dynamic linkage influencing planning, policy, and design. The firm’s foundation in land use and transportation planning has led to deep knowledge of street design, transit-oriented development, regional growth modeling, sustainable “green” design and planning, and other specialties.
